Problem:
The client had a business networking group and kept track of his members and prospects on a collection of spreadsheets. There were 12 separate groups and he kept a file on each one. The groups met each month and beforehand, the client would create a new list to manage the attendance of each one and produce a contact sheet. This was very time consuming and was difficult to outsource. The client wanted a system to free up his time and enable him to grow his business.
Solution delivered:
We had several conversations with the client to understand his business process and review the various spreadsheets. Once we had a grasp of situation, we went away and mocked up what the screens would look like. We sat down to review them and I explained how his various spreadsheets could all fit into one database and how he could manage his membership list. We added a new feature where he could send Invitations from the system to his Members to easily manage the monthly meetings. We built the screens and added them to the Blackland CRM. We added a report button so he could print out the attendance list he would normally distribute to attendees. It was an important part of his process and we made sure to include it where other systems would not have had it. When it was time to go live, Blackland helped him upload his existing spreadsheets into the database and trained him on how to use the system.
Client benefit:
Transforming the various spreadsheets into an organized database was exactly what the client needed to grow his business. He was able to assign the day-to-day work to an admin, bring on moderators to manage other locations and focus on improving the quality of his network.
